Answer: Algae is the name given to a set of organisms, which are photosynthetic, and they are considered neither animal, plant nor fungi. Algae are predominantly single celled organisms; however some species are multicellular.
Taxonomy is a classification of organisms into groups based on similarities of structure or origin.
They are several organisms that can be listed under the taxonomic group of algae. Many of these organisms being photosynthetic, as stated above, eukaryotic and consisting of no vascular material.
