Observe and make notes on the use of games, puzzles and problem solving in maths lessons.
Answer: Making any subject accessible, entertaining and thought provoking is one of the hardest tasks that any teacher faces every day in the classroom. Mathematics is one topic that children might find uninspiring, especially when it is taught through ‘death by worksheet’. Introducing games, puzzles and problem-solving to maths lessons is one way of injecting excitement into the lesson and the doubling/halving game that I used for my directed task 2 is an excellent example of this....(short extract)
