Since my dwelling is a 38-storey building, I assume that the structural stability is provided by a deep foundation. There may be poles that extend down through to subsoil to transfer building loads to a more appropriate bearing stratum of rocks and gravel. As every flat in my building is more or less standardized in terms of size and interior partition, it is sensible to infer that the stability of my flat is supported by a group of homogeneous load bearing structures which consists of:
Floor Systems: Based on the observation on the concrete spalling (Figure 1) through which I can see rusted steel bar and loose concrete, the floor slabs in my building should be composed of reinforced concrete.
