Question: EMA – Resubmission Question 2

Part a - Discuss briefly two different tasks concerning geometric thinking that you have developed in connection with ME627 and have tried with one or more learners.
At least one of these tasks should involve the use of geometrical ICT.
Include copies of the tasks in the form in which you presented them to the learner(s) in an appendix, giving clear evidence of the use of geometrical ICT. (10 marks)

Part b - Identify and justify two choices (pedagogical) you made during the preparation of the tasks, stating why you thought they would be appropriate for the learner(s). (10 marks)

Part c - Describe, evaluate and reflect on how the learner(s) responded to each task.
Include in your description anything that surprised you about the way they worked on the task and at least two instances in which the learner(s) displayed mathematical powers and experienced mathematical themes. (40 marks)

Answer: Introduction
This paper is an overall reflection and discussion on the entire module concerning geometric thinking. I have explicitly made references to the psychology of change in my learning and the cognitive development I experienced with geometric thinking. The key of this paper is to evaluate the use of core module constructs within two different tasks whilst evaluating the use of ICT and its role in developing the learning of a topic. I have approached the paper focussing of two areas, not only looking directly at the chosen tasks, but also at the key pedagogical issues raised with support from the module frameworks.

The mathematical themes raised within the paper relate explicitly to the themes and powers within the core text and relate to the experiences both gained and observed throughout task completion. I feel that the tasks discussed within this paper offered opport...(short extract)
