Answer: Relationships in care are important in influencing the outcomes for people in receipt of care and for those who provide care. The quality of this relationship often affects the experience people have when accessing care services. To develop and maintain quality relationships in any care setting requires a balance of knowledge and skills. In this essay I intend to explain why role boundaries are important in care work, and how care workers can maintain suitable relationships with service users. To illustrate my answers I will refer to the case studies and resource material provided in the Open University K101 Module.
Being unwell not only affects the person that is ill, but it also affects the people around them and how those people behave. To say you are ill means you are asking people to treat you differently, to excuse you from your normal duties and to offer you sympathy....(short extract)
