Answer: The application of synchronous and asynchronous communication devices is increasing as a teaching and learning tool. Computer conferencing is often used in distance education to facilitate interaction in online learning communities. Several studies indicate that computer conferencing can be a powerful force for facilitating discussion and for encouraging writing.
