Answer: Abstract & Introduction:
In this practical, the goal was to measure the agonist and antagonist actions on a piece of rat ileum (part of the small intestine). The cells of the ileum have many receptors on their surface, which can be activated. We are going to look at the action drugs which act like agonists and antagonists at these receptors and their effects on the tissue and to aggregate the relevant results [e.g. to plot the log concentration of agonist (M) against the response (% maximum)].
Hypothesis: It is expected that the higher concentration of the drug we add to the organ bath, the higher is going to be the response on the tissue.
Methodology:
