Answer: Globalisation is the way in which people, cultures, money, goods and information 'move' between countries with few or no barriers.
Socially, globalisation has allowed knowledge and skills to be transferred between countries, benefitting LEDCs where education is not as advanced and it has enabled population to be taught about basic sanitation, hygiene and skills necessary for work. A healthier population with the correct skills will be more able to find work which will help bring more people out of poverty; in 2011, 17% of people in the developing world lived at or below $1.25 a day which is down from 43% in 1990. This has occurred as technology has improved communication, meaning that LEDC areas have increased access to knowledge not previously attainable, only made possible due to globalisation, having an effect economically also as populations have an increased chance of finding w...(short extract)
