Question: Unit 2 Art Journal
Answer: The project that we were given had 4 themes. I based my work on Natural Disasters. This links to the theme catastrophic events.
The first thing I did was brainstorm my ideas such as use of drugs, gangsters and mobs and Picasso painting because they all link to catastrophic events. I began my work with an idea sheet and some visual studies based on natural disasters, by painting floods, tornadoes, lightning effects, earthquakes, volcanoes etc. A critical decision was that I didn’t know where to go from at this point. I had run out of ideas as to how I would take this project further.
Talking to other people helped me think of ideas and plans such as painting the before and after pictures after a natural disaster hits a certain place, or drawing the natural disaster itself. One of the ideas that I was given was that instead of actually taking the literal meaning of natural disast...(short extract)
