Answer: Over the last twenty or so years, equal opportunities has increased in popularity due to there being more women working in paid employment than at any time before. However, the fact that female and male candidates may be equally qualified does not mean that they have the same chances to compete in the employment market or opportunities for advancement at a later stage.
