TO KILL A MOCKING BIRD (CHAPTER 15)

Answer: The essence of the 15th chapter of the book, in my opinion, is focused solely on the children’s behavior; their capability to understand the adult world around them as well as an insight to Atticus’ character.
At the beginning of the chapter, Dills’ idea of drawing Boo Radley out with lemon drops signifies his maturity in a certain way. He understands that Boo Radley’s long term confinement may have led him to not mellow into a normal adult and perhaps due to this mental disability, Dill feels that candies might help draw him out of the house. It shows his understanding of his surroundings at the same time it preserves his childishness....(short extract)
