Question: Year 11 Short story – ‘Ark’
Answer: My eyes slowly opened, I could faintly see the clouds in the sky turning grey.
It was freezing. My body was shivering; hair prickling out of my arms like comb sticks; my hands were pale white like snow. I could hear my heart slowly beating like a dying horse.
My eyes suddenly opened widely, I had no idea where I was; thinking to myself ‘where on Earth am I’, ‘why is it so cold here’. I sat up struggling and looked down at my pale, white hand. Sitting there staring at my hands, constantly opening and closing them, it was difficult. I looked around; it was full of silence, like I was the only one alive.
This was the most perplexing time of my life.
Spontaneously I remembered some things; the time I was on a ship which was carrying 1200 people, I could remember the name of the ship, it was called ‘CALIDO 971 B’. There were certain other things like sitting in the d...(short extract)
