Answer: Introduction
Levelling is the operation to determine the relative height of points on the surface of the earth, above or below a reference point which is called the bench mark. In this fieldwork, the reduced level of an external staircase is measured.
Location
G/F at Red Zone ( External staircases leading to the car park of the Amenities Building.
Equipment used
1. Tripod [Image of a Tripod]
This consists of three steel legs and a plate on top of it which is used for additional instruments e.g. telescope.
2. Auto level [Image of an Auto level]
The auto level contains a circular bubble and three-foot-screw system which has a high level of accuracy.
3. Levelling staff [Image of a levelling staff]
It is made from aluminium alloy and can suffer variation due to temperature changes while unaffected by water. The staff contains three box sections which slide inside another. â...(short extract)
