Answer: Throughout the essay I have explored several different opinions and examples of research regarding children and young people and listened to the views of researchers’ regarding ethics and research with children and young people. Overall, research ethics are complex. Benefits regarding outcomes against infringement of rights and dignity or participants play a vital part in the planning of social research. I considered at the start of the essay that a study must be guided by correct ethical issues and must pass the scrutiny of an ethical committee but know realise it is not as black and white as this. There are many ethical issues which will influence research and even after approval has been granted researchers will still have ethical judgements to make and will most likely do so based upon their own professional and personal values.
