Answer: This essay aims to address the value of personal memory and oral tradition of studying diaspora communities in Britain. It will be argued that this can be achieved by changing the highly Eurocentric national curriculum especially for history to a more multicultural curriculum. Since the core reason behind such integration is to necessitate changes in attitudes towards migrant values, cultures, beliefs and citizenship, it will also be stressed that how teachers perceive and value migrant communities is also of paramount importance.
Education must keep up with our ever changing, culturally diverse country.
