I have chosen to observe an eight year old girl from the year 4 class I support daily. Lucy is the youngest member of her family; she has four older brothers and two older sisters. The family moved to England six years ago from Afghanistan and have lived local to the school since. Three of Lucy’s siblings have also attended the school, although she is the first to enrol from nursery.
Lucy is average height in comparison to her peers and is of slight build. Most days she wears a headscarf and is always well turned out. She can speak three languages fluently; English, Urdu and Spanish.
