Answer: In this assignment the focus will be on one particular child from the year 4 class I support in the mornings during literacy and maths. Michael is an 8 year old boy who has been diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), he has attended our school from reception and was diagnosed in year 1. Michael has expressive and receptive language difficulties, and struggles with social interaction. An IEP (Individual Education Plan) is in place for him, and at the beginning of each term staff involved with supporting Michael, meet to discuss his targets along with his parents. (KU 1.7) Michael has one to one support throughout day, and this is split between myself in the mornings and another TA (teaching assistant) in the afternoon.
