Question: Discuss two theoretical approaches to learning that you have encountered within this module, exploring their implications for learners.
Answer: The process of learning is a subject that has interested experts for a number of years now and naturally from this many different learning theories aiming to answer the question as to how we learn best have been born. As a rule no one of these theories has particularly been touted as being the most efficient or the most successful as each has their own followers and believers but this is not to say that if we don’t examine each of them that we wouldn’t find patterns and be able to have a better understanding of how we as humans learn. By doing this we will also be able to make up our own minds on what is the most effective way of learning. There are a number of popular theories each with their own individual founders and set of ideas but this essay will look into greater detail on two theories in particular, these being the behaviourist and the humanist perspectives.
