Answer: TMA 02 Social disorder, in my mind would generally refer to an action which goes against the social norms within your society. This can range from protesting and marches to rioting and these events tend to occur when there is a ‘collective feeling of injustice or simply disagreement with the way things are in society’ (Drake and Scott, 2019, p. 55).
I would personally consider social disorder to be rebellious actions though not necessarily those which would be considered criminal, such as protests, which are a clear sign of discontent with the current societal workings, rather than violence and looting which is carried out within riots.
For example, the 2011 London riots are considered to be a rather large display of social disorder due to the events that played out between August 6th and August 11th.
