Answer: The three tables given in Assignment Booklet 2010B (The Open University, 2010) have been taken from the website www.sns.gov.uk, and give quantitative evidence about the inhabitants of Glasgow City compared to Scotland as a whole.
Table one looks at the total population of Glasgow City and Scotland as of 2008 and shows that 11% of Scotland’s population live in Glasgow City. Table 1 also looks at the percentages of working age males and females as well as the total number of income and employment deprived showing that Glasgow City has considerably more of its population in the income deprived (those who are on low incomes or who are claiming benefits) and employment deprived group (those who are not working) than Scotland as a whole. Glasgow City has 6% more working age males and 8% more working age females than Scotland in total....(short extract)
