Answer: Abstract
Social constructionists imply that human rationale is constructed from social representations, involving a complex amalgamation between societal impact and the individual. These social representations are also reconstructed through historical influences that ultimately shape a person's social and individual identity. The aim of this project was to examine the changing social representations of women, especially in relation to patriarchal dominance. The sample consisted of eleven pages from a 1956 issue of She Magazine and eleven pages from 2002 issue of She Magazine. Qualitative and quantitative content analysis was applied to the sample's text and images. A coding frame was constructed for the quantitative analysis which consisted of four categories.
