These can present as phobias such as fear of closed spaces or spiders, or sadness, maybe caused by bereavement or sickness of a loved one. These are just two examples among the several reasons that fear and sadness can appear. If a diagnosis is given, fear and sadness are often labelled as anxiety and depression (Barker. Langdridge and Vossler, 2010, p. 2). There are several treatments and therapies that can be used to treat fear and sadness, these include, medication, humanistic approaches, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (hereinafter CBT) and mindfulness.
