Question: Please tell us why you wish to study the subjects you have chosen? Please describe yourself as a person. What are you like? What are your non-academic interests and what contributions have you made to your community?
Answer: The subjects I would like to study at (name of college) are A-Level psychology, sociology, theatre studies and accountancy.
I have chosen psychology and sociology because criminals, society and how the mind works has come to interest me considerably over the past year.
Although I do not yet have much knowledge of the subject I am looking forward to studying the human mind in great depth. Critical thinking and human behaviour has really grabbed my attention and has made me want to study it at a high level.
For example, I have seen documentaries about psychologists who explain the effect of anorexia and why people become anorexic, which I found very interesting. I think I have the ability to understand and weight up different explanations for human behaviour and perhaps become a psychologist when I am older....(short extract)
