Answer: Organisations, their structures, management and their strategies are becoming ever increasingly complex. Evolutions in the markets in which they operate, the tendency towards the globalisation of the market place, and the international nature of many firms are causing managers to re-think their position and consider the ways and means with which to implement change. A concept more commonly known as strategic management.
The word strategy is derived from the Greek word “strategos”. Initially meaning military leadership it came to mean decision making undertaking a shift from the individual to the co-ordination of organisations seeking success.
