Question: Scouting for Asteroids
Answer: With the surge of interest in innovative technologies fast becoming a cornerstone of mankind’s expansion into increasingly sci-fi horizons, we’ve started to seriously consider some of the more bizarre ones. Take for example the asteroid mining project launched earlier this year by Planetary Resources Inc (formerly Arkyd Astronautics), earlier this year in April 2012.
For those who don’t yet know, Planetary Resources was announced in early 2012 although it has its roots in the Arkyd Astronautics founded in 2010 by Peter Diamandis. Peter Diamandis of the personal space flight fame and has been endorsed since then by such big names as James Cameron (Aliens!), Larry Page and Eric Shmidt from Google, and a more impressive list of think-tanks and innovation pushers a comprehensive/description can be found on Wikipedia.org
