Answer: The design argument, sometimes also called the Teleological argument (From the Greek- ‘telos’- meaning end or purpose) attempts to prove the existence of God by reference to order, regularity and purpose found in the world and the process of creation.
The design argument being an a posteriori, draws from human experience, if we enable the use of our senses to analyse the world we notice that certain phenomena within the universe appear to have been designed to be purposeful and perfectly adapted and suited to their function, for example the specific size of molecules. This cause and effect must therefore have been established by an intelligent, sentient being and cannot have been occurred by chance alone. Theists believe that this being is God.
