The project for this term was to construct a telephone box/kiosk for the twenty first century. The design was one picked form a competition between 3rd years – with the winner being the one that got built. Each week the course tutor – Bob Brown would form a set of instructions in the form of “shop drawings” for the relevant group to use to construct their element of the building.
Introduction:
The site for the phone box was located behind the school of architecture in the garden. This area was chosen because it is easily accessible and quite close to the workshop – so transportation of the materials etc shouldn’t be a problem. The garden provides a decent amount of space, and is convenient for all students....(short extract)
