1. Socialization and Resocialization
This subtopic will begin by providing a sound understanding on the topic of resocialization through some basic explanations and theories on socialization. In this section, the different theories raised by George Herbert Mead, Jean Piaget and Talcott Parsons will be explored to give a well-rounded view on the process of socialization. The concept of resocialization will be introduced with William M Rivera’s theory.
2. Prisons as Agencies for Conformity
