Question: UCAS Personal Statement - Art History

Answer: I have had a long founded interest in the History of Art – in particular the modern Parisian art world and the renaissance period.

I enjoyed the Personal Study component of my, A level course, which developed my essay writing skills, such as researching sources and being selective about the material used. On the modern aspect of the History of Art, I have enjoyed Matisse and admired how he endured poverty and yet was able, through his unique works with expressive and inventive use of colour, to establish himself in the Parisian art world. I find it interesting that suffering and adversity is so often associated with genius....(short extract)
