Answer: ® Planning: team leaders discuss and record priorities and objectives with each of the staff in their team. They discuss how progress will be monitored. For classroom staff, the outcome of the discussion will be a member of staff’s work and development plan. These planning meetings to be held within the first 4 weeks of the autumn term, and for other staff in the second half of the summer term.

® Monitoring: the member of staff and term leader keep progress under review throughout the cycle, taking any supportive action needed. Monitoring will include classroom observation for teachers.

® Review: the member of staff and the team leader review achievement over the year and evaluate the member of staff’s overall performance taking account of progress against objectives.
