I was contacted by a tutor within school about Joe, a 12-year-old boy who she has concerns about. Since beginning the school in September Joe has not coped with the transition and has not settled, made friends and appears withdrawn. She reports that since the Christmas holidays his attendance is very irregular, and his behaviour is becoming a cause for concern.
The purpose of this report is to try and identify Joe’s needs and his barriers to learning using the ‘My world triangle’ assessment strategy. I shall also try to identify any risks that may be apparent and influence Joe’s wellbeing and making recommendations which will have a positive impact on Joe.
