Answer: 1.1 In supervisions each member of the team is able to speak freely and privately to a senior member of the team in confidence. In my home there are three individuals who are able to deliver supervisions, this being myself, the deputy manager and one of the seniors. I believe a supervision should be empowering, structured and informative. Morrison (2005) proposed that there should be supporting beliefs to supervisions including;
• Staff are entitled to the highest standards
• Supervisions must attend to process and content
• Supervisors should be role models
• Supervision is about action and reflection
• Supervision is the most important relationship
A supervision is not only between the supervisor and the supervisee but also involves the organisation and the young people. It is important to view the process as a whole and focus on all areas affecting the individual.
