Answer: 1.1 Effective team performance is created and sustained via a variety of tools and methods. These include staff induction, team development and training, supervisions and appraisals, effective management and communication. A good team requires great leadership, someone who is able to bring out the best in the team through encouragement and motivation. The leader of a team must be a good lister and communicator. An effective leader will know the strengths and weaknesses of their team to assign tasks to empower the team and give guidance on areas requiring development.
An effective team also needs to work in unison having a common aim and objective. In a children’s residential home it is essential the team work well together to ensure the effective day to day running of the home and the best care delivered to the young people.
