Answer: 1.1 Professional development is an opportunity to reflect, share common goals, support each other as well as learning from other team member’s knowledge, expertise and experience.
No two days are ever the same, as a manager or as a care worker therefore improving mine and my team’s knowledge will give everyone the confidence to deal with the challenges that occur on a daily basis in the care industry. For example, I have in the past worked with individuals with dementia. Although staff completed a basic Dementia course, I felt that all staff would benefit and learn more by attending a more intense training course for Dementia that was run by the Alzheimer’s association. The feedback that I got from staff members was very positive and they commented on how they can now use the new knowledge to improve the services they deliver.
