Question: Early modern comedy - Discuss the role of master and servant relationships in Early Modern comedy?

Answer: During the Restoration period in England, the aristocrats and the common man had started to interact before the change would come back to restore the distinction that was held that the nobles were supposed to be above the commoners. This was the period where the monarch was restored from years of control by the parliament. Restoration is present in the country wife as it nears the end where each character is accorded the result which they have acted on throughout the play. This was supposed to be a transformative period where the old generation of doing things and hiding behind context that was supposed to be shrewd and rude was more pronounced and exposed. However, for this essay, my focus will be on the early modern comedy and the relationship the master would develop with the servant, and the effect it would have on the servant and the master.
