Answer: Charlotte Gilman uses 'The Yellow Wallpaper' as a title to her short story. As it’s the main object which symbolizes the narrator's struggles as a female and brings to light the gender inequality within society even till this very day. Gilman uses her own experiences, symbolism and imagery to present her artistry work of 'The Yellow Wallpaper'. Gilman's life is very similar to 'The Yellow Wallpaper', Gilman was raised by her single mother in poverty. However, Gilman started experiencing postpartum depression after bearing her first child, and later on divorced her husband Charles Walter Stetson. She became a writer and speaker for women's reform. She has done many work on women's rights such as 'Herland', 'Women and economics', 'concerning children' and so on. However, 'The Yellow Wallpaper' has become a masterpiece out of all.
