How does Hosseini’s style of writing evoke empathy from the reader?

Answer: In The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, War is represented as having a very disturbing effect on the characters and the reader. The novel was written in 2003, this was after the 9/11 attacks which happened in 2001, therefore Hosseini may have gained his intentions to write this novel explaining the history of the Taliban and how they have controlled and attacked before. When Hosseini incorporates the effects that war brought and how it can change the way people live under repression and terror, he makes the reader face these horrors and understand the extreme effects of war. The event here was Amir’s realisation of how happy he was with Hassan and realises that their relationship was worth more and he didn’t appreciate it enough.
