Answer: Introduction
Play is imperative on a child’s development as it gradually assists the child to understand the world and how it works as well as furthering their development in each area of S.P.I.C.E (Social, Physical. Intellectual, Communication, Emotional). Children learn and develop best through experience and play as they get the chance to challenge themselves as well as experimenting and exploring their surroundings.

This portfolio will summarize the importance of play when learning in an Early Years setting. Also how recent influences have affected the planning and provisions of children’s learning opportunities and how it will meet each child’s individual needs.
