DD102 Introducing the social sciences

Answer: TMA 01 Part 1 - Society is made through the interaction and actions of people, the alliances that we build with each other and our connection with the material things around us. People adapt and react to changes in their environmental and economic circumstances differently, initiating decisions that modify the world and the communities that we live in.

For instance, an example of ‘making and remaking’ on City Road is Mark Hocking who initially began his career as a car repairer, who sold a few cars on his forecourt; to then having to reinvent himself due to ‘wider economic change, which saw the demise of the car trade’ (The Open University, 2017) having to sell his business and use one of his garages to sell bespoke architectural products into companies across the UK, which he started by default.
